Workshop: Telecom Crash Course

Telecom Crash Course

The telecommunications, IT and media industries are passing through a period of tremendous change as they converge toward something new -- and this something new is big. There are huge opportunities ... and there are risks.

The appetite for content will continue to grow and will continue to drive the need for network innovation. After all, content is nothing without a mechanism to store it, analyze its consumption, link it to advertising, and monetize it -- nor does it have value without a solid, high-bandwidth, largely optical transport core and an equally high-bandwidth mobile edge. This is the technological equivalent of detente -- neither of the three can stand alone; all win when they are mutually supportive.

In this presentation we will discuss the forces that are shaping this new industry, including technological, economic, competitive, regulatory, and social forces. Never have the challenges -- or the opportunities -- been greater.
